Hi Hive,  On January 24, 2025, an incident at Hamline Elementary School in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood led to initial reports that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents attempted to enter the school. However, it was later clarified that the agents were from the U.S. Secret Service, investigating a threat in the vicinity. The agents did not enter the school, and no students or staff were approached.  Chicago Public Schools (CPS) officials emphasized that staff followed established protocols by keeping the agents outside and contacting the CPS law department and the Office of Safety and Security for guidance.
